The LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection expanded beyond the original trilogy era for the first time earlier this year, as 75349 Captain Rex Helmet and 75350 Clone Commander Cody Helmet introduced two fan-favourite prequel-era characters to the fray. Both of those sets retail for £59.99 apiece, but John Lewis has slashed them down to just £47.99 each – a 20% saving on their RRPs.

For clone soldiers from the same army, there’s plenty of variety between these two sets that makes them both fine additions to your collection: not least because they’re based on two separate phases of Clone Trooper armour. Cody is inspired by the original Phase I armour introduced in Attack of the Clones, while Rex boasts Phase II armour – as seen in later seasons of The Clone Wars.
The captain’s helmet is also heavily modified in-universe, leaving the door open to a regular Phase II helmet further down the road. For now, Cody and Rex join legacy characters like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett in the wider LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection, bridging the gap between those named characters and the generic Stormtrooper, Scout Trooper and TIE Fighter Pilot helmets.
