Released on August 1, 2022 and retired by the end of 2023, 10497 Galaxy Explorer had less than 18 months on shelves. It was a charmingly nostalgic LEGO set that paid homage to the original and iconic 497 Galaxy Explorer while also bringing enough newness to make it well worth a purchase. This is made no less true by the fact that it was released to celebrate the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary, making it an even more special set for collectors and LEGO fans alike.
If you missed your chance a couple of years ago, now is perhaps an even more tempting time to buy, with Walmart offering 30% off the now-retired LEGO Icons set. That means you’ll only need to pay $70, compared to the original $99.99 price tag. The deal is only available to those in the US and even those should move quickly. The deal on 10497 Galaxy Explorer was first listed as an exclusive for Walmart+ members before being opened up to the wider public, meaning it might not have long left on it.
