Aquaman swims into UK cinemas today
The latest film based on a DC Comics character, Aquaman, is released in UK cinemas today.
Jason Momoa’s Aquaman arrives to headline his own DC Comics inspired big screen adventure in UK cinemas today, after supporting his fellow super heroes in Justice League last year. Directed by James Wan, the film’s cast includes Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe and Temuera Morrison.
When conflict imperils his world, half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry must return to Atlantis and acknowledge his heritage. With threats both internal and external, it will be up to him to find out if he can claim his birthright and be worthy of the throne.
One LEGO DC Super Heroes set has been released based on the new movie, in 76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike, which Brick Fanatics has reviewed here.
Aquaman continues the DC extended universe storyline, that started in Man of Steel, continued through Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League. Given the lukewarm reception that last year’s team up received, the promotional campaign has been keen to highlight how distinct Aquaman is from the previous films.
