LEGO might have dropped a clue for what to expect at Gamescom
The LEGO Group’s presence at Gamescom is confirmed, but what exactly it will be promoting remains unclear – aside from this clue.
In a video shared on the LEGO Group’s social media pages, the company has confirmed that a huge model of Dr Eggman and Sonic himself will appear at Gamescom (starting today August 23 until August 27), suggesting that the company’s presence could be closely tied to the Sonic franchise. After all, last year’s Gamescom saw a similar-sized Bowser take to the convention hall to promote the upcoming release of 71411 The Mighty Bowser.
We’ve already had our own guesses as to whether the LEGO Group could be promoting or launching a new brick-built game. If so, perhaps it could even be tied to Sonic and Dr Eggman. Much like LEGO Harry Potter, Marvel, and Star Wars have become popular game franchises, could a brick-built Sonic game be on the horizon?
Alternatively, perhaps these enormous builds are simply being used to promote the recent revamp of the LEGO Sonic range and the upcoming BrickHeadz of Sonic and Tails. We’ll have to wait and see, of course, what the LEGO Group hopes to gain from Gamescom. The enormous Bowser went on to tour different events and cities, so we could also see a similar journey for Sonic and his archnemesis down the line.
