Hang onto summer with enormous LEGO train pool build

Summer may be over, but one LEGO builder has a pool feature worth spending a day outside for.

LEGO TikTok user afolkfolbricks has shared an elaborate LEGO train pool layout that doesn’t just loop around the pool but even drives over it on carefully constructed bridges at some points. More LEGO sets, like 71040 The Disney Castle and 10261 Roller Coaster (both retired now), have been used to decorate the scenery, but the most impressive section has to be the over-water red and white bridge.

Built using what look like LEGO City 60205 Tracks )and a lot of them at that), the tracks extend not only over one of the corners of the pool in a red-and-white suspension-style bridge, but also jut out over the steps into the pool. Now, this does beg the question of how you can actually get into the pool to swim, but when you can sit and watch your LEGO train chug its way around the pool and through minifigure-manned train stations for an oddly satisfying two minutes, who even needs to swim?

At the end of the full tour of the TikTokker’s garden and pool, the train comes to a graceful stop against the final bumper. While we wouldn’t recommend leaving your LEGO elements outside permanently, it’s certainly a fun building challenge to see what you can do when you build with your surroundings, rather than restricting yourself to a baseplate or similar.

Hello, I’m the owner of Afol & Kfol Bricks and just wanted to thank you for the article and the kind words 🙂

We are planning a new Lego train pool layout build this summer with an even longer bridge and a small modular building city. Keep an eye on our social channels so you don’t miss it!
