LEGO changes tune with a brand new album of R&B music

The LEGO Group has released the perfect soundtrack for your next building project, designed to get your creative juices flowing.

Quietly released on September 25, the LEGO Group has released an album on Spotify called Rhythm and Bricks, made up of nine lyric-less songs with varying styles. Most stick close to typical R&B, with a rhythmic beat and chilled melodies, in line with the R&B logo emblazoned on the album cover.

This isn’t the first time that the LEGO Group has made a foray into music. You only need to look at the official Spotify page to see the white noise album released in 2021 alongside the LEGO Botanical Collection, featuring white noise music made from actual LEGO bricks. Plus, the LEGO Group partnered with Foley artist Sanaa Kelley to create a new ‘Green Noise’ playlist for the release of 21342 The Insect Collection and most recently teamed up with Lofi Girl for a LEGO-themed lo-fi music stream.

While it doesn’t appear that Rhythm and Bricks has much to do with LEGO, with no brick-clicking sounds that we could hear, the rhythmic beats would certainly make a good soundtrack for a building session. Stream it for yourself on Spotify here.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
