See LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower lined up next to other modular buildings

Check out LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower next to other modular buildings – and see how it dwarfs even the theme’s previous superhero skyscraper.

The newly-revealed LEGO Black Friday 2023 set clocks in at a staggering 90cm tall, which makes it far and away the biggest LEGO skyscraper to date, the biggest LEGO Marvel set to date, and one of the tallest LEGO sets of all time. It also means many of the LEGO Group’s existing modular buildings are no match for it – and even its closest contemporary looks surprisingly small by comparison.

76269 Avengers Tower is constructed entirely on a 32×32-stud baseplate, matching the usual footprint of the LEGO Group’s other modular buildings. Those include 76178 Daily Bugle and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum – both Marvel modular-compatible sets – but also the regular Modular Buildings Collection, with sets such as 10297 Boutique Hotel and 10312 Jazz Club, and NINJAGO’s 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens and 71799 NINJAGO City Markets.

It means you’ll be able to slot 76269 Avengers Tower straight into your city when it debuts on November 24, but figuring out exactly where to place it – and all its 90cm – might be a slightly trickier proposition. To give you some idea of what to expect from the set’s towering scale, we’ve comped together the below image of the Marvel set alongside several of its contemporaries.

The sheer size of the skyscraper is laid bare in this comparison, completely dwarfing the likes of 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, 10278 Police Station and the upcoming 10326 Natural History Museum. What’s more surprising is that it even makes 76178 Daily Bugle look pretty short in comparison, and anyone lucky enough to own that set will know that it’s already a very overwhelming presence.

Just imagine, then, how big 76269 Avengers Tower is going to be when it’s fully constructed and popped in your city. But that’s really as it should be: the Marvel heroes’ New York base easily rivals the city’s other skyscrapers, so it’s only right that it towers over buildings like 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum.

76269 Avengers Tower launches November 24 for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99. Click here for a closer look at the set’s contents, including all 31 of its minifigures.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
