There’s more connecting the LEGO Marvel modulars than height

LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower and 76178 Daily Bugle have a lot more in common than just being skyscraper Modular Buildings.

The biggest LEGO Marvel set, with the most minifigures, has now been revealed as 76269 Avengers Tower. Launching on November 24, 2023, for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99, it’s compatible with the Modular Buildings Collection as well as 76178 Daily Bugle and 76269 Avengers Tower. Looking at the sets together, it’s clear that 76178 Daily Bugle and 76269 Avengers Tower stand far above the rest.

However, there’s more in common between these buildings than you might think.

Taking a look inside 76269 Avengers Tower, a familiar design for the elevator on each floor (including one stop that is boarded up) is present. This is the same build that was used on each floor of 76178 Daily Bugle. Both are similarly thin and likely non-functional too.

The back of all three LEGO Marvel modular buildings has a common thread too. Yellow dumpsters are placed behind 76178 Daily Bugle, 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum and 76269 Avengers Tower and, though their contents may be different, use the same build. It’s an interesting bit of world-building too, suggesting that the same organisation handles the rubbish from each building.

There’s another connection between the two skyscraper sets as well, though these are separate from the buildings. The Quinjet, Leviathan and Chitauri chariot in 76269 Avengers Tower offer a creature, a larger vehicle and a smaller vehicle as side-builds.

Similarly, 76178 Daily Bugle includes Sandman emerging from the pavement, the Spider-Mobile and a yellow taxi. It’s a proven formula for massive LEGO Marvel sets, it would appear.

76269 Avengers Tower launches on November 24, 2023, for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 and 76178 Daily Bugle is available now for £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99.
