Modular, detailed and fan-inspired LEGO buildings retiring this year

A range of LEGO sets are scheduled to retire at the end of 2024, including some of the most detailed and unique LEGO buildings ever designed.

Joining the list of the hundreds of LEGO sets from all current themes retiring this year are a trio of builds worth pointing out in particular. Whether you’re enthused about superheroes, worldwide landmarks or the fan-inspired creations of LEGO Ideas, take note of these retiring models, as covered in our new YouTube video.

76218 Sanctum Sanctorum, 21338 A-Frame Cabin and 21056 Taj Mahal are currently retiring at the end of 2024, though these dates are subject to change and there are many months until December at the time of writing.

Considering that 76269 Avengers Tower recently released, the retirement of 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum so soon may be surprising and it’s worth keeping in mind that it’s home to many exclusive minifigures based on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness too. 21338 A-Frame Cabin has a few minifigures as well though the set is focused more on interesting building techniques and an entirely new structure compared to other LEGO sets.

LEGO Architecture’s upcoming retirement of 21056 Taj Mahal is especially notable as the theme only traditionally retires one set per year, and this appears to be changing in 2024. The trio of building models are just a few of many sets planned to retire this year and you can find out more by clicking here or here for our dedicated retiring page.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
