LEGO 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks available now

LEGO 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks is now available to redeem in the Insiders Rewards Centre – and for fewer points than its predecessor.

The second of four microscale builds of the NINJAGO City series, 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks follows last month’s 40703 Micro NINJAGO City as a reward exclusively for LEGO Insiders members with enough points to spare. But while the first model required 2,700 points to redeem, 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks is available for ‘only’ 2,300 points.

That’s roughly equivalent to just under £15 in discount vouchers in the Insiders Rewards Centre, so choose wisely if you do have the points available. 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks offers a 275-piece microscale build of 2018’s 70657 NINJAGO City Docks, and is pretty much essential if you’re collecting the entire series – but is perhaps skippable if not.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that all the pieces needed for 40703 Micro NINJAGO City can be found at Pick a Brick, which might eventually be true of 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks too, if you’re looking for an alternative way to collect these mini modular buildings. If you claim the set through the Insiders Rewards Centre, you’ll need to place an order at LEGO.com within 60 days to redeem the subsequent code and receive your set.

Fortunately, the timing to do so couldn’t be better: a whole bunch of new LEGO sets have just dropped online, including 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City and 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, along with three different gifts-with-purchase in 5008325 Mimic Dice Box, 40683 Flower Trellis Display and 40681 Retro Food Truck.

40703 Micro NINJAGO City is still available in the Insiders Rewards Centre for 2,300 points, meanwhile, so 40704 Micro NINJAGO Docks will hopefully likewise stick around for a little while – offering the chance to build up your stash of Insiders points if you don’t have enough already. The final two microscale NINJAGO City sets, recreating 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens and 71799 NINJAGO City Markets, will presumably arrive later this year.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
