We reviewed LEGO Technic McLaren P1 out into the wild
We channelled our inner Top Gear personas and took the LEGO Technic 42172 McLaren P1 into the wild for some up close evaluation.
And by ‘into the wild,’ we mean the roads near where Brick Fanatics‘ Matthew lives. The upcoming 42172 McLaren P1, due for release on August and retailing at £389.99 / $449.99 / €449.99, certainly looks race-ready enough to be at home on tarmac roads and seeing it in a semi-natural environment did spark some fresh ideas about how well it performs as a LEGO Technic set.
Made up of nearly 4,000 pieces, 42172 McLaren P1 is certainly a lengthy build, but does that pay off in the final product? From some angles, absolutely. The rear view is clearly the iconic McLaren car and it delivers on a range of technical features that are sure to please any petrolhead.
However, that’s not to say there aren’t some downsides. Join Matthew out on the open road (and his studio) for a deeper review of 42172 McLaren P1 and whether it’s worth a purchase – and what considerations you might want to consider for yourself before pre-ordering.
