New LEGO Star Wars video delves deeper into Rebuild the Galaxy
A new LEGO Star Wars short gives a better idea of what to expect from Rebuild the Galaxy, featuring Jedi Bob, Dark Rey, and Jedi Vader.
Despite not being an official trailer, a new clip posted to the LEGO YouTube channel offers further insight into what Rebuild the Galaxy will be about, including the lines being drawn between the characters. There’s nothing to indicate that it’s an actual clip from the animated show and, seeing as there’s no dialogue, we’d hazard a guess that it’s not. Nonetheless, it does offer more detail around the characters.
Judging from this clip, it seems that Sig Greebling and Jedi Bob will be the main protagonists, going up against Dark Rey, Darth Jar Jar, and Bounty Hunter C-3PO. Beach Luke and Jedi Vader appear to take on secondary roles, seemingly running a ship garage, much like Peli Motto in The Mandalorian. Presumably, they will play similar roles to her in Rebuild the Galaxy, popping up to help out the main characters and providing some sort of refuge.
That’s not to say that Jedi Vader will be a pushover, however. When Dark Rey, the apparent leader of the baddies, whips out her dual-bladed red lightsaber, Vader’s blue lightsaber comes out to play and he leaps to battle. Presumably in this version of reality, Vader kept Anakin’s lightsaber in whatever events still lead to him needing the suit to keep him alive.
On the evil side of the show, the power dynamics clearly set Darth Rey as the leader of the group, with Darth Jar Jar being second in command and Bounty Hunter C-3PO as the lowest denominator. The seating arrangements of the Falcon seem to support this, with the lefthand pilot seat usually taken by whoever’s in charge (the Han Solo’s and Lando Calrissian’s of the original series, for example).
Check out the full clip in the embedded video below. It’s worth noting that this doesn’t appear to be an official clip from the show, so we’re just doing some speculation thanks to this closer look at the characters. Rebuild the Galaxy will air on Disney+ on September 13.
