We’re going to need at least one more LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set

We’re so close to an incredible LEGO Dungeons & Dragons goal already and we need at least one more set from this partnership to reach it.

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons isn’t even a year old yet and it’s already boasting a staggering number of minifigures thanks in no small part to 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. That said, it would be a shame to not get one more set to finish a notable goal that we’re already so close to completing.

Across four player character minifigures in 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale and another seven in the upcoming minifigure series, the LEGO Group has covered almost all of the official Dungeons & Dragons classes. There are 11 player-based minifigures available or coming soon and 13 classes in total (excluding partnered content).

That leaves just two official Dungeons & Dragons classes to cover. Technically there’s a third but the Blood Hunter would likely require a second partnership with another company, so we’ll stick to the two missing Wizards of the Coast-owned classes for this report.

The missing classes at the time of writing are the Monk and the Artificer. Though you can mix and match existing parts to make your character, it would be a shame to not finish the set with named minifigures when the LEGO Group is so close.

Monks are traditionally martial artists who are known to use their bodies as weapons and can cast forth effects and magic using their ki. Artificers are similar in concept to Wizards, but instead of studying spells and magic, they focus mostly on magic, mechanical devices and potions of all kinds.

The LEGO Group aren’t quite as close to making a minifigure for every race, missing over 50 in total excluding partnered expansions. It might be wise to assume that this goal is a bit more unattainable and look towards the goal of a minifigure for every class instead.

Unfortunately, 71047 Dungeons & Dragons and 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale are the only LEGO Dungeons & Dragons sets confirmed at the time of writing but on the bright side, 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale is available now and 71047 Dungeons & Dragons launches on September 1.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
