LEGO Star Wars Dark Falcon proves to be a hit as it goes on back order
Just a few hours into August 1, some LEGO sets are proving more popular than others and putting the LEGO Group’s stock levels to the test.
The new waves of LEGO sets have been on sale for less than 24 hours and some are already heading on back order. That includes LEGO Star Wars 75389 The Dark Falcon, in both the US and the UK. For American shoppers, you’ll need to wait until August 22 for your copy of 75389 The Dark Falcon, while it’s a little shorter in the UK, with sets shipping by August 12.
That highlights that 75389 The Dark Falcon has gone down a treat with fans around the world, exceeding the LEGO Group’s first round of stock. It’s not a massive surprise, considering it puts a twist on one of the most enduringly popular LEGO Star Wars ships out there, as well as introducing some unique minifigures, like Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Rey, Beach Luke and Jedi Vader.
This could mean good news for the upcoming animated show, Rebuild the Galaxy. If the episodes, due for release on September 13, are as popular as the corresponding set, perhaps we’ll see more seasons of the What If…?-style show.
Other LEGO sets that launched on August 1 and are proving popular in the UK include LEGO Star Wars 75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit, LEGO Technic 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht, LEGO Marvel 76296 Guardians of the Galaxy: The Milano, and LEGO Technic 42173 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Grey Hypercar. For the last one on that list, there’s still the opinion of picking the alternative colour scheme with 42184 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut White Hypercar but for the others, you’ll have to wait as long as August 12 for sets to ship.
