2024 LEGO Christmas set could tie into rumoured model

It might still be summer, but the first LEGO Christmas 2024 sets have been revealed and one of them could tie into a rumoured set.

Both 40743 Christmas Table Decoration and 40744 Christmas Ornament Selection were revealed this week alongside an upcoming Halloween set. 40744 Christmas Table decoration is the largest of the seasonal offerings and one of the biggest LEGO Christmas sets ever designed at 433 pieces and it might tie nicely into a rumoured set.

It bears a striking resemblance to a LEGO Christmas model that was retired at the end of last year with an alternate build for a table decoration. 40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1 was released in 2020 and though its main build was a wreath, a secondary model allowed you to make a table decoration complete with candles.

It’s a similar build to the new 40743 Christmas Table Decoration, though arguably the 2024 build is more refined since it hasn’t been adapted from a primary model. Its timing is paramount too considering that 40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1 has only just retired.

It’s worth pointing out that another wreath is rumoured for later this year as part of the LEGO Botanical Collection. The LEGO Group could be aiming to bring both concepts back but this time as split models, as long as the rumour is accurate.

While the Botanical Collection wreath is only a rumour at the time of writing, 40743 Christmas Table Decoration launches on September 1 for £39.99 / $39.99 / €39.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
