LEGO to open Copenhagen hub and expand Billund operations

The latest round of operational expansions for the LEGO Group includes a new Copenhagen hub and additions to the Billund headquarters.

The LEGO Group have announced their plans to open a new hub in Copenhagen in 2027 in The Stamp. The Stamp is currently under construction in the Postbyen development close to Copenhagen Central Station.

This follows the digital office’s expansion in Copenhagen announced in 2023, but this expansion is considerably larger. The LEGO Group is confirmed to be the sole occupant of The Stamp with 30,000 square meters over nine floors and space for up to 1,500 colleagues. Sustainability is a crucial factor too as the building is being built to achieve gold certification under the DGNB sustainable building standard.

Features of the new hub will include world-class, accessible facilities that foster collaboration, creativity and playfulness, as is common in the LEGO Group’s various locations worldwide. This will be the fifth hub when it opens in 2027, joining Boston / Enfield in the USA, London, Singapore and Shanghai.

“It is important for the LEGO Group to have inspiring workplaces in the best locations to continue to attract the right talent,” explained the LEGO Group’s CEO Niels B Christiansen.

“In Denmark, we are investing in both our Billund headquarters with two new state-of-the-art campuses and the new Copenhagen Hub. With great access to the Capital and Øresund regions, the new Copenhagen Hub enables us to attract world-class talent to two fantastic locations in Denmark.”

In September, the LEGO Group will open an office in Postgården to accompany its office in Østergade, both of which will house around 650 colleagues combined while The Stamp is being built.

Colleagues in these offices will be brought together in the new hub when The Stamp opens. In Billund, the LEGO Group is investing in two new campuses at the Billund headquarters

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
