LEGO reveals its best-selling themes for 2024 (so far)
The LEGO Group has revealed its top-selling themes for the first half of 2024, and there are some familiar properties in the mix.
In fact, the list is identical to the one provided for the entirety of 2023, suggesting we’re all still buying the same mix of licensed and homegrown LEGO sets. The five best-selling LEGO themes of 2024 so far are LEGO Icons, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Technic, LEGO City and LEGO Harry Potter. That’s the order provided by the LEGO Group in its financial results infographic for the first half of the year.
It differs slightly to the order given in the written report though, so it’s no indication that Icons really is the best-selling theme of them all. But its presence in the list at all is still indicative of the LEGO Group’s growing adult consumer base, given the theme is comprised entirely of black-boxed 18+ sets. Otherwise, these are the same spread of product lines that topped sales charts in 2023.
That means there is one change from the same period last year, as there was between the first-half and full-year results for 2023, with LEGO Harry Potter replacing LEGO Friends in the list. The Wizarding World theme returned to shelves in 2018 and is still going strong despite a complete dearth of new source material. Based on these results, don’t expect it to go anywhere any time soon.
The LEGO Group’s list of best-selling themes for the first half of 2024 comes amid a wider announcement of skyrocketing sales and profits, with revenue up by 13%, consumer sales up by 14% and net profit up by 16% compared to the same period in 2023. September will see a brand new LEGO Harry Potter direct-to-consumer set land on shelves in 76437 The Burrow Collectors’ Edition. Head here to check out our review of that 2,405-piece build ahead of its release this weekend.

Author Profile
- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
