Brick Fanatics’ favourite LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures

As release day for the LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures nears, it’s time to see what the Brick Fanatics team think of the 12 characters.

In case you haven’t heard, the next series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures carries on the partnership that started with LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale. This time, LEGO Dungeons & Dragons is a lot more affordable with 12 blind-boxed minifigures at £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 each.

With a mixed variety of new pieces, prints and all kinds of creatures unique to Dungeons & Dragons, there are plenty of reasons to love these minifigures. They should appeal to LEGO enthusiasts not acquainted with Dungeons & Dragons too, as they do for much of the Brick Fanatics team. Before these new minifigures are released tomorrow, here’s which of 71047 Dungeons & Dragons’ 12 minifigures is our team’s favourite.

Rachael – Tiefling Sorcerer

Who doesn’t want a tiny dragon that can perch on the end of their arm? Well, the Tiefling Sorcerer boasts that and more, striking an effortlessly cool pose from the tips of their horns to the end of their tail. Combining horns with bangs is a bold choice but it absolutely pulls off here with a unique hairpiece.

No detail has been skimped on when it comes to her clothing, with arm printing and dual moulded legs to boot. The purple and gold clothing compliments the red-orange skin tone of the Tiefling Sorcerer. It’s every inch the fantasy character and comes complete a spell effect, so you know they’re not just relying on the dragon to wield magic.

Matt – The Lady of Pain

I’m not usually one to pick up a full CMF set unless it’s a specific theme I’m particularly invested in. Instead, I’ll cherry-pick the characters that I feel are the most visually appealing or those that use unique pieces that might come in handy for customising other minifigures in my collection.

When it comes to 71047 Dungeons & Dragons, The Lady of Pain is definitely in the former category, as I know very little about her but she’s a character that looks phenomenal. The most striking aspect of the minifigure for me has to be her spiky mask head piece, complete with gold accents. Throw in a unique cloak, stunning torso and skirt printing, plus the legendary Cubic Gate, and this is one essential minifigure I’ll definitely be tracking down using the Brick Search app.

Jack – Mind Flayer

Singling out a specific minifigure in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons as my favourite proved to be a challenge. After weeks of getting to appreciate them on my desk following our review, I’ve grown to appreciate them all but eventually determined that the Mind Flayer is my favourite.

I’ve had plenty of experience with Mind Flayers and Intellect Devourers across campaigns and Baldur’s Gate 3 and the recent popularity of the latter seems to have timed perfectly with 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. This coincidence has caused me to become even more familiar with both creatures, appreciating the finer details in this pair of monsters from 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. I can also appreciate that this minifigure-creature duo is much different from the other 11 Dungeons & Dragons minifigures, depicting two standard monsters from Dungeons & Dragons in one box that is easy to army-build, especially using Brick Search’s minifigure scanner.

71047 Dungeons & Dragons launch tomorrow in stores and online. Time is running out to get proficient with the Brick Search app before the big day and you can decide which minifigures you want to aim for by clicking here to head to our in-depth review. Dice at the ready, the LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures are nearly here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
