Piece by Piece international release dates confirmed
The LEGO Group and Focus Features have confirmed the international release dates for Pharrell’s LEGO biopic Piece by Piece.
A documentary on Pharrell’s life through the lens of LEGO bricks, Piece by Piece is the first brick-built movie released under the LEGO Group’s deal with Universal Pictures, and premiered at Toronto International Film Festival on September 7. It’s due to arrive in cinemas in the US on October 11, and you can win two tickets to its New York City premiere on October 7 through the Insiders Rewards Centre.
It’s not debuting in cinemas worldwide at the same time, though: instead, Piece by Piece will enjoy a staggered distribution around the globe. Focus Features has now shared a full list of international release dates for the movie, which you can check out in the table below.
Region | Release date |
---|---|
US, Canada | October 11, 2024 |

Germany, Austria, Denmark | January 23, 2025 |
That’s just under a month’s wait for those of us in the UK (compared to the US), while cinemagoers in the LEGO Group’s home country will for some reason have to wait until 2025 to see Piece by Piece on the big screen. The film’s tie-in LEGO set 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams will at least debut in most (if not all) territories on September 20, and is available to pre-order now.
Early reviews of Piece by Piece have described the movie as ‘a gorgeous musical fantasia’ that leans on LEGO bricks to represent Pharrell’s creativity. We’re still waiting on its final Rotten Tomatoes score, though.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
