Space-themed LEGO Ideas project makes it into review stage for the second time
A LEGO fan designer has tweaked their space-themed design and made it into the LEGO Ideas review stage for the second time.
After making it past 10,000 supporters and into the review round for LEGO Ideas in April 2023, fan designer SharkyBricks is back with a new name and improved “accuracy and design”, according to the description. The Moon: Lunar Landscape shows a brick-built moon on a black tiles background, with the waxing and waning moons in lesser detail below. It’s an impressive artwork made up of 2,205 pieces, picking out authentic details like craters and mountains on the moon’s surface.
“The set also offers unique educational opportunities by including the phases of the Moon, lunar facts and a brick-built panorama depicting Earth rising over the lunar landscape, showcasing our planet’s fragile beauty as seen from the Moon’s surface,” explains the fan designer in the description.
The proposed LEGO Ideas set also features an option to flip the design for builders in the Southern Hemisphere, reflecting the customisation options for sets like 31203 World Map depending on your location. The Moon: Lunar Landscape becomes the seventh project in the third LEGO Ideas review round of 2024; remind yourself of the competition below.
