PSA: The best LEGO Batwing ever made is available to buy once again
Superhero fans can pick up the best LEGO Batwing ever made at Sports Direct, with the retired model currently available with a discount too.
Fans of the Dark Knight are getting ready to celebrate Batman Day 2024 on September 21, with this year’s annual event marking the DC Comics character’s 85th anniversary. The good news is there are plenty of great LEGO Batman sets currently available for you to join in all of the Bat-related fun, with various versions of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego and his signature vehicles represented in brick form.
The latter includes 76161 1989 Batwing, easily the best LEGO DC version of the crimefighting craft released to date. While the model has already been retired, you can still pick up the set from Sports Direct, with the UK retailer having reduced the price of the build by 5%.
The original RRP for 76161 1989 Batwing was £229.99, but the LEGO DC craft can be purchased right now for £219.99. Based on the vehicle’s appearance in Tim Burton’s iconic Batman movie, the superhero set comes with 2,363 pieces and the completed model measures over 52cm long.
76161 1989 Batwing features a removable canopy, detailed interior, poseable flaps and a fact-filled nameplate, plus minifigures of Batman, The Joker and Lawrence the Boombox Goon. In addition, the LEGO DC set can be placed on its own display stand or attached to a wall for all to see thanks to a handy included mounting bracket.
