Andor Season 2 has the chance to revive a rare LEGO Star Wars figure

More details of Andor’s second season were revealed at D23, suggesting that the return of a rare LEGO Star Wars figure is possible next year.

Part of the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23 this weekend focused on Andor, including confirmation of characters returning from Rogue One. One more has just been confirmed on the Star Wars website though.

K-2SO is officially going to feature in the second season of Andor, likely telling the story of Cassian getting his hands on the droid and the partnership they built up before the movie. This class of droid has been featured in a few other projects since Rogue One in 2016 too.

Andor Season 2 is coming in 2025, and its first season received a single set – 75338 Ambush on Ferrix. Should there be plans for at least one set based on Andor Season 2 in 2025, there’s a very real possibility that K-2SO will be back as a LEGO figure.

The only minifigure-sized figure of K-2SO is included in the long-retired 75156 Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle from 2016 and the mould for his exclusive body piece may well be lost to time. K-2SO doesn’t necessarily need to look the same to return though.

Similar to NED-B and Huyang, K-2SO could always return as a standard minifigure, even making use of the longer Avatar legs to maintain his height compared to normal characters.

It wouldn’t be as accurate as his original figure, but unless the LEGO Group has his old mould stocked still, it may be the only path for the droid’s return. This is assuming that Andor Season 2 will receive a set and that it will be based on a scene featuring K-2SO though.

Given how long it has been since this class of droid was available in LEGO, we can only hope that the upcoming installation of Andor next year will offer the LEGO Group the chance to bring it back, whether as a droid figure or a minifigure. Andor Season 2 is streaming on Disney+ in 2025.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
