Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora gets first gameplay

Much like the upcoming open-world Star Wars game, Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received its first gameplay trailer.

As part of the Ubisoft Forward showcase for June 2023, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been revisited with the first gameplay since it was announced in 2021.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is another open-world game from Ubisoft, this time based on James Cameron’s franchise following the success of the first two films and with more on the way

The premise of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is explained in the overview trailer with the player controlling a Na’vi that was taken by the RDA as a child and taught about human technology to make them a soldier.

After being frozen in cryogenic stasis off the back of the battle of the Hallelujah Mountains, between the first film and The Way of Water, the player Na’vi must learn to reconnect with their culture and fight back the RDA as they return to Pandora.

The gameplay looks similar to the Far Cry franchise, mixed with the ability to ride creatures into battle in the air and on the ground. Otherwise, there’s crafting, a selection of Na’vi and RDA weapons and armour to equip.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is coming on December 7, 2023, to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Amazon Luna.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
