Build a backdrop for LEGO Transformers 10338 Bumblebee

LEGO Icons Transformers 10338 Bumblebee can look even better on display with instructions for a custom backdrop and getting them should be easy.

Farawaybricks on Instagram has shared a retro backdrop display stand for 10338 Bumblebee in partnership with the LEGO Group with free instructions available to everyone, with one small caveat.

Update: The landing page for this content is now live online and accessible to any LEGO Insiders member, whether you have picked up the set or not.

Acquiring these instructions is easy – theoretically – as it’s reported that access to the LEGO Group’s article featuring them will be given to any LEGO Insiders who purchase a new copy of the set. Further details have not been shared and we can’t find any record of this deal on LEGO.com though.

We imagine that any LEGO Insiders who pick up the set starting today will be sent a link to the article via their email, or that the instructions will be included in such an email though that’s not a guarantee at the time of writing. There is no relevant reward available via the LEGO Insiders Reward Centre and we’re not certain how else access would be provided.

We can’t find the instructions anywhere freely on LEGO.com but the Instagram user has shared a screenshot taken from the article, meaning it must be live but inaccessible unless you purchase the set online starting from today. Either way, make sure you’re logged in to your LEGO Insiders account should you wish to try for yourself.

Hopefully, this isn’t a limited-time offer as LEGO Insiders Days are about to start next week and quite a few gifts are rumoured as well as a double points event. Based on the rumours, 10338 Bumblebee could be an ideal pick for the event while scoring some free instructions for the retro display at the same time.

Given that the LEGO Group has partnered with Farawaybricks for this build, it seems likely that the entirety of the pieces are available on Pick a Brick, though we do not have the parts list at the time of writing. You can read our review of the second LEGO Transformers set by clicking here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
