Although Batman and his Batmobile are present, 76035 Jokerland is all about the Joker. Batman needs to save Robin from the clutches of his arch-enemy in a set made up of various parts of the Joker’s colourful theme park. Pieces: 1,038 Price: £94.99 / $99.99 / €97.47 Minifigures: 6 Year: 2019

Beating 76035 Jokerland by just one part, 76122 Batcave Clayface Invasion is more of a unified set with its 1,038 pieces. There are fewer minifigure, although this is somewhat made up for with a posable, big-build Clayface and a more detailed Batmobile. Special mention has to go to the comicbook-accurate Two-Face. As a depiction of the Batcave, Batman’s allies take the majority here, featuring Batman, Catwoman, Robin, and Alfred.

8 –10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout

Pieces: 1,619 Price: £129.99 / $159.99 Minifigures: 8 Year: 2013

The largest depiction of the infamous Arkham Asylum the LEGO Group has ever made, 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout features the facade of the asylum itself, with some imposing metal gates and an ambulance. The interior features opening cell doors, so you can either lock up your included villains of the Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow, or stage an escape with the aid of Dr Harleen Quinzel.

7 – 76023 The Tumbler

Pieces: 1,869 Price: £159.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 Minifigures: 2 Year: 2014

With only two minifigures in the form of the Joker and Batman, 76023 The Tumbler’s 1,869 pieces almost all go into this detailed recreation of Batman’s tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy. The black armour brought in a new-to-this-set colour, along with brand-new LEGO front wheels and adjustable wings.

6 – 76240 Batmobile Tumbler

Pieces: 2,049 Price: £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99 Minifigures: 2 Year: 2021

Hot on 76023 The Tumbler’s heels comes another version of the same vehicle, 76240 Batmobile Tumbler, coming a full seven years later. It adds around another 200 pieces but has the exact same dimensions as the one that came before, with largely the same style and design to boot.

Pieces: 2,526 Price: £239.99 / $269.99 / €249.99 Minifigures: 9 Year: 2016

Returning to the Batcave, 76052 Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave is a rarity in that the main colour is not black. The build includes Bruce Wayne’s study above ground, with Batpoles providing acces down into the secret lair. There’s plenty of high-tech lab equipment, a well as not only the Batmobile, but buildable versions of the Batcopter and Batcycle too.

3 – 76139 1989 Batmobile

Pieces: 3,306 Price: £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99 Minifigures: 3 Year: 2019

Number three on this list is 76139 1989 Batmobile, based on the version of the iconic vehicle as seen in the 1989 Batman movie. The 3,306 pieces perfectly capture the curving silhouette, as well as three minifigures, including (you guessed it) Batman and the Joker, as well as Vicki Vale. Special mention should go to the new-to-November-2019 wraparound windshield element, as well as the two hidden machine guns with a pop-up function that was activated by turning the turbine exhaust.

2 – 76252 Batcave – Shadow Box

Pieces: 3,981 Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Minifigures: 7 Year: 2023

This controversial LEGO Batman set takes a different take on the well-trodden Batcave, using a mighty amount of its bricks to make up the box itself, which swings out on hinges to reveal the slim-lined cave within. As well as the cave itself, complete with bat iconography, stalacmites, and Bat-gadgets, the minifigure line-up includes Max Shreck, The Penguin, Catwoman, not one but two versions of Batman, Alfred Pennyworth, and Bruce Wayne.

1 – 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City
