LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 6 open for submissions

Series 6 of the BrickLink Designer Program is now open for submissions, once again offering the opportunity to get your LEGO models turned into official sets.

The final submission window (at least from those currently announced) in the BrickLink Designer Program is open through September 27, so you’ve got just under two weeks to submit your build. The crowd voting phase will then take place from October 7 to 18, giving BrickLink members the chance to influence which of the submissions advance to the crowdfunding phase, with the five successful designs announced on November 18.

Crowdfunding will commence in October 2025, and sets will begin to ship from March 2026. It’s quite something to be thinking about what you might be building a year and a half from now, but this is the standard timeline for the BrickLink Designer Program, which focuses on delivering exclusive, limited-run sets designed by fans, for fans.

The LEGO Group has made a couple of changes to the program for Series 6. First, modular buildings are no longer allowed, presumably to avoid conflicting with the company’s in-house series – despite the five previous BrickLink Designer Program sets that are directly compatible with the modular building format. Sets that could be construed as depicting harm to animals are also off the table, including zoos and aquariums.

Animals in their natural habitat are fine, but less fine are builds that focus on fossil fuels. A coal mine or oil rig wouldn’t necessarily reflect well on the LEGO Group’s current drive towards sustainability, so that makes sense. Finally, submissions hooked to original LEGO themes – including DREAMZzz, Friends, NINJAGO and Monkie Kid – will be rejected. The ethos is clearly on something new.

Head over to BrickLink to download the parts palette for Series 6 and start building, and make sure to get your submission uploaded by September 27. The next milestone for the program comes on October 8, when crowdfunding will open for the five Series 3 finalists, including Forest Stronghold and The Art of Chocolate. The LEGO Group has also recently revealed the five Series 5 finalists.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
