Celebrate Lunar New Year 2024’s start with new LEGO sets

Celebrate the start of 2024’s Lunar New Year with several recent sets from the usual Seasonal range, a unique BrickHeadz and LEGO Monkie Kid.

The latest Lunar New Year has begun and the LEGO Group launched its annual range of inspired builds earlier this year ready for the event. The range is bigger than ever this year and stretches across more themes than usual too.

Seasonal sets

The highlights of the selection are the massive 80112 Auspicious Dragon and 80113 Family Reunion Celebration. The former has exclusive minifigures and a detailed building that you can take a closer look at by clicking here. The latter offers one of the biggest dragon builds in LEGO history and our review is available to read here.

40678 Festival Calendar is available now too including options for a dragon boat or minifigure-centric display and the previously-offered 40611 Year of the Dragon gift-with-purchase ties into the event too.

BrickHeadz

New for this year, LEGO BrickHeadz are celebrating the Lunar New Year with a licensed Disney caricature. 40673 Spring Festival Mickey Mouse offers the first BrickHeadz of the character in his modern design since 2018.

Monkie Kid

While not directly attached to the celebrations, LEGO Monkie Kid’s connections to Chinese culture make it worth mentioning as the theme turns five this year, despite what you might think. It has a range of new sets available now for the anniversary, including the huge 80054 Megapolis City 5th Anniversary which we have also reviewed.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
