The biggest changes in LEGO Ideas 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas

LEGO Ideas 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas has changed a lot since its initial submission, from its minifigures to structural stability.

Simon Scott’s project-turned-product has been officially revealed in the form of LEGO Ideas 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas. The new set is based on Tim Burton’s classic film of the same name, made up of 2,193 pieces for £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99.

While the core concept of the build has remained the same, there are plenty of changes to go over compared to the original project. Watch our latest YouTube video to see exactly what’s different.

Scott’s original Nightmare Before Christmas build proposed a more twisted tower at the centre of the model, though this has been eschewed in the final design – presumably to keep the building structurally sound while the set is moved around and played with.

The biggest difference is the colour scheme, which now features a heavy dose of black elements to match the aesthetic of Halloween Town even better than Scott’s project. All the changes appear to be significant upgrades from the original design and The Mayor has even been added in place of Dr. Finkelstein.

You can pick up 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas starting from September 3 as long as you’re a LEGO Insider. Otherwise, the model launches on September 6. You can find out more about the new LEGO Ideas build by clicking here

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
