Cryptic LEGO 2025 rumour appears to tease Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and more

A reliable source of LEGO rumours has teased what appears to be several upcoming sets, hooked to franchises including Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings.

Instagram user tandnbricks has previously proven to be a reliable source of shreds of info related to upcoming LEGO sets, and they’re back again with another mysterious tease in their stories, which reads: “It’s a tale as old as time. About a simple man trying to make his way in the universe. But he’s [sic] stands not alone. He is part of a fellowship, a team of heroes, a family. It’s all about family… and doooonuuttss.”

It’s cryptic, for sure – but tandnbricks confirms in their subsequent story that it is indeed teasing ‘future LEGO-related things’. And with a little reading between the lines, there might actually be some juicy stuff in there, so let’s pull it apart and see how it could relate to the LEGO 2025 line-up…

Star Wars

“I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.” Recognise that quote? You should: it’s one of Jango Fett’s most iconic lines from Attack of the Clones, and its paraphrasing by tandnbricks suggests the bounty hunter might be putting in an appearance in the LEGO Star Wars range next year. Whether that’s as a minifigure or perhaps another entry in the dormant Helmet Collection remains to be seen.

The Lord of the Rings

This one’s not quite as concrete, but it’s tricky to think the word ‘fellowship’ could relate to anything other than The Lord of the Rings. And while we’ve yet to hear much about a potential third giant Middle-earth set following Rivendell and Barad-dûr, this tease could imply that a 2025 set might revisit the first film in Peter Jackson’s trilogy. That would rule out Minas Tirith, but it keeps Bag End squarely in the mix…

Fast & Furious

Fun fact: the word ‘family’ is mentioned 25 times in Fast X. That’s a record high for the Fast & Furious franchise to date. And the words family, fast and furious are so intertwined at this point that tandnbricks’ post could easily be referencing the saga, which the LEGO Group has already tackled a couple of times across Speed Champions and Technic. A new set in either of those themes could therefore be on the cards for 2025, but our money’s on Speed Champions.

The Simpsons

A LEGO set codenamed ‘Clown’ is believed to be coming in 2025, and the current working theory is that it’s heralding the return of The Simpsons with a Krusty Burger build. That’s thanks to a list of potential future set rumours from tandnbricks – and their mention of donuts here seems to reinforce that suggestion.

We might be reading too much into this, and it could be that none of these implied rumours pan out as expected in 2025, but let us know in the comments if you’ve got any other takeaways from tandnbricks’ cryptic message up top. ‘A tale as old as time’ could be a nod to Beauty and the Beast, while ‘a team of heroes’ could relate to the Avengers, but both of those feel a little too broad to safely speculate about…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

Beauty and the Beast would probably be the next mini castle. Fellowship could be more brickheadz or it could be referencing Jango Fett being a brickheadz like fellowship members, a team of heroes members (Batman), and family (Harry Potter).

I honestly think it probably wouldn’t be bag end because of ‘fellowship’ I’d think it would be the pillars of Argonath or Moria

“But he’s [sic] stands not alone”

Cloud this be a reference to Theoden at Helms Deep? Gandalf says is when he comes to the rescue. Edoras perhaps?
