A decade-old LEGO Star Wars set is being given away at D23

As the final day of D23 looms, a decade-old LEGO Star Wars polybag has been spotted at the event, being given away for free.

D23’s show floor is full of freebies for attendees to find and pick up, including at the Star Wars Darkade in exchange for tickets earned by playing games.

SDCC Swagyu on X (formerly Twitter) reports that one of these prizes is 5001621 Han Solo (Hoth) from 2013. This is a retired LEGO Star Wars gift-with-purchase that wasn’t difficult to find during May the 4th at the time but at 11 years old this year, it’s become something of a rarity.

Whether it’s the only LEGO polybag that can be earned at the Darkade is unknown but for those in attendance, you might want to head over to the booth and play some games while you can.

That’s not the only LEGO activity at D23 during its last day as a Cinderella mosaic is being put together, as spotted by Stephen Gettle. You can build a section of the mosaic by heading to the model’s location near the D23 marketplace.

This joins a trio of LEGO Disney Princess builds that are on display at D23 2024. While there have been no set announcements at D23, which isn’t unusual, a panel discussing new LEGO Pixar shorts is taking place later today.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
