Early LEGO Zelda Great Deku Tree owners label it ‘better value than first thought’

Some lucky LEGO shoppers have got their hands on LEGO Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 early – and are surprised with what they’ve got.

The early criticism of the very first LEGO Zelda set were largely centred around it being an expensive set for what you get. It was assumed by many that the high cost came down to excess pieces, thanks to the 2-in-1 aspect of 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1. However, those who got their hands on the set early to review, including Brick Fanatics‘ Dimitri in our written and video reviews, were largely pleased with the set. Indeed, our review labelled it as “a genuine love letter from the LEGO Group to Nintendo and a dream come true for Zelda fans.”

Now, non-reviewers are starting to see 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 in person thanks to some retailers seemingly jumping the gun both in-store and with deliveries, judging from what they share on reddit – and their verdicts echo what the reviews had to say. Now that people have been able to see the LEGO Zelda set in real life, rather than just from photos and digital renders, the set feels larger than expected – and more worth the hefty price tag of £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99.

“I don’t think the initial advertising did a good job of conveying the size and all that you get,” added one reddit user. “Being able to have the two side builds built alongside your tree of choice and the other enemies/objects is a better value than I first thought.”

Another agreed: “I saw the floor model for my local store before they put it on display. It’s a bigger than I expected.”

While over £250 is not an insignificant sum to be sure, the level of detail in 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 appears to be impressing those who build and see it in person enough to warrant the cost. As the only LEGO Zelda set on the market, it’s arguably both the best and only choice for fans of the iconic franchise.
