Every possible LEGO 71047 Dungeons & Dragons race and class combo

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71047 Dungeons & Dragons‘ customisable characters have dozens of combinations to mix, match and discover. Here’s a closer look at every single one…

It’s not often that a LEGO Collectible Minifigures series is quite as customisable and creatively engaging as 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. The new series encourages personalisation by letting you mix races and classes to make custom characters using seven sets of provided parts.

None of these pieces show skin tones aside from the heads and one pair of legs, meaning it’s easy to remix any of the minifigures to be an entirely different class or race. There are 12 minifigures in the series but the other five are specific characters or monsters, leaving us with 49 possible combinations to explore.

From the Dwarf to the Tiefling and even the Aarakocra, dive deep into every possible LEGO 71047 Dungeons & Dragons combination following our in-depth review. As a tip, you might consider picking up an extra Elf Bard for their incredibly versatile legs as you’ll need them for the ranger, druid and barbarian.

Here’s exactly what you can make using the seven customisable minifigures in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. Don’t forget to download Brick Search on Android or iOS so you’re ready to use its minifigure scanner when these blind boxes hit shelves on September 1.

Dwarf

With their short legs, the Dwarf minifigure is one of the least customisable races using only parts from 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. Assuming you keep using the black, hinged, short legs for the correct scale, only the torso and the various accessories can be changed. This is aside from the druid where the shorter Halfling legs look great, though are a bit too short (with no flexibility).

This still drastically changes the look of the minifigure. Statistically, Dwarfs work best as barbarians or even wizards with their increase in constitution – the latter of which has a minifigure in LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale. Visually, the Dwarf minifigure looks great as a ranger and a bard with their cheery smile but none of the combinations look particularly displeasing.

Gith

Gith can either be good fighters or practised spellcasters based on which sub-race you choose during character creation. Githyanki work best as barbarians and fighters while Githzerai are good druids and clerics.

Mixing and matching 71047 Dungeons & Dragons parts can recreate some of these options but their yellow skin adds a splash of colour to any class combination that looks visually appealing. The swirl-covered legs from the warlock outfit work for other classes too and add an ominous, otherworldly feel that is suitable for Gith.

Tiefling

The Tiefling in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most interesting minifigures with their horns and tail and the latter makes it challenging to mix and match pieces with them. You can’t add the paladin’s armour without removing the Tiefling’s tail, but otherwise, they make up some of the most colourful combinations with much success.

In terms of game mechanics, Tieflings are good bards, sorcerers, and wizards. The LEGO Tiefling bard looks particularly good, in case you need an excuse to make one for yourself. Note that they all have a midriff, but maybe that’s in fashion in your fantasy world.

Dragonborn

The Dragonborn’s singular moulded head surprisingly doesn’t stop this minifigure from being highly customisable and you’ll find that many neck accessories fit underneath the gold Dragonborn’s head. Specifically, the bard’s scarf and barbarian’s fur collar look great with this race.

In Dungeons & Dragons, Dragonborn are proficient as paladins, barbarians, bards and sorcerers, all of which look good as minifigures. Don’t be dissuaded by the huge head to get creative with 71047 Dungeons & Dragons’ Dragonborn minifigure and remember that a green element is available in 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale too.

Halfling

Halflings work in the tabletop game as rogues, monks and any build that will be relying on dexterity. They’ve proven to be one of the most challenging minifigures to mix and match since their minifigure has no included hair and their legs are green, matching the druid but not much else.

Given their size, you may opt not to use the Dwarf legs as they look slightly too tall with them. Halflings are meant to be around half as tall as humans after all. Thankfully, short legs are common outside 71047 Dungeons & Dragons, so you can always turn to your wider collection for better colour matches with the various torsos. In practice, it’s entirely possible to customise a Halfling character with the pieces in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons but they don’t work quite as well as other races.

Aarakocra

As much as Halflings are a challenge to customise in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons, they are a walk in the park compared to the Aarakocra. This minifigure’s wings and specialised legs mean that they aren’t nearly as personalisable as other races. Still, they look unique thanks to their impressive wingspan and the white colour scheme works particularly well for the paladin without the heavy armour.

Statistically, Aarakocra are best positioned to be rangers, monks, fighters, rogues, and druids. This is according to their older iteration as the updated version doesn’t provide any skill boosts. These combinations as minifigures are recognisable but inherently not as varied as those of other races.

Elf

With their classic appearance that has been recreated many times in LEGO minifigures, the Elf in 71047 Dungeons & Dragons is reliable when mixed with other classes. They work well in any combination, but their alternate expressions are more specific to bards unless your druid is singing a song to the birds.

In-game, elves are good fighters, rogues and monks and depending on your sub-race, they could work as wizards and druids too. As a LEGO minifigure, the latter arrangement looks as good as it performs statistically.

71047 Dungeons & Dragons launches on September 1 with 12 minifigures to collect and Brick Search can be used to find the minifigures you’re looking for by scanning the codes on the boxes. You can find out more about the Brick Search app by clicking here.

Thank you for all this combinations and class specs especially. Heads, Torso, and Gears offers a great foundation, still I would choose parts for Legs and Weapons (for rouges, monks, fighters ..) outside 71047 DnD.

Do your halfling combinations have an alternate face visible on the back of their heads (if not using the druid’s hood)?
