First official look at LEGO Icons 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams

A LEGO Certified Store has revealed the first official images of LEGO Icons 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams, which is hooked to the artist’s upcoming biopic Piece by Piece.

A product listing at Bricks Megastore in Australia confirms 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams will launch on September 20 for AUD$199.99, or roughly £100. The model includes a sleek black and gold rocket, a colourful jet stream, Pharrell and Helen Williams astronaut minifigures and an additional 49 interchangeable character heads.

According to the product description on Bricks Megastore, the model is inspired by ‘Pharrell’s creative optimism’: “His surroundings at Atlantis Apartments fuelled his curiosity and provided the launchpad that helped him build the future he wanted for himself, and others like him.” The variety of heads included in the model are presumably intended to depict other artists in the music industry.

Piece by Piece debuts in cinemas on October 11 in the US and November 8 in the UK, and charts the life and career of Pharrell through the medium of LEGO bricks. It’s the first LEGO movie released under Universal Pictures, and also features the voice talents of Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar and more – all of whom could be among the heads included in this set.

10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams stands 49cm tall, 20cm deep and 19cm wide when the space shuttle is attached to the jet stream, but it can also be removed and displayed separately with attachable landing gear. Finally, the two minifigures include black astronaut helmets with gold visors, matching the aesthetic of the shuttle – which appears to include a drum-lacquered gold canopy.

We’ll hopefully find out more about 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams – including its international pricing – very soon.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
