Something’s fishy between LEGO Friends and 10315 Tranquil Garden

There’s something in the waters of 10315 Tranquil Garden and 41757 Botanical Garden, connecting the two models in more than one way.

10315 Tranquil Garden has been officially revealed, offering a small scene to decorate, customise and display of an idyllic garden with a stream running through it. It’s heavily plant-focused with plots to move around.

41757 Botanical Garden is out now for £74.99 / $79.99 / €84.99 and while plants connect the two creations, there’s something else that they share. The koi carp tile first appeared in 80107 Spring Lantern Festival and has remained exclusive to that set since.

Now, you’ve got not one but two more chances to grab them as both 10315 Tranquil Garden and 41757 Botanical Garden include the brick, utilising it in a different way.

41757 Botanical Garden has the koi carp tile beneath the brick-built water, slightly obscuring it for a more realistic look. However, 10315 Tranquil Garden places it on the surface, making it easier to spot. The LEGO Icons model also includes six koi carp tiles, three swimming left and three swimming right, while the LEGO Friends build only features two koi carp swimming right.

Considering the close proximity of these two set’s release dates and their similar topics, the appearance of koi carp in both might not be a coincidence, though nothing has been confirmed.

10315 Tranquil Garden launches on August 1 for £94.99 in the UK, $109.99 in the US and €104.99 in Europe.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
