Five LEGO Ideas 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas secrets to spot

LEGO Ideas 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas is packed with fan-favourite details, but how many have you managed to spot so far?

Fans of Tim Burton’s classic 1993 stop-motion animated movie don’t have long to wait until the recently-announced 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas is released. The 59th LEGO Ideas set will be available for Insiders to pick up from September 3, with a wider launch for the £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 model from September 6.

Based on a winning submission by Simon Scott, 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas features three modular sections that slot together, as well as six minifigures, a Zero figure and a brick-built version of The Mayor.

In addition, 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas is also packed with plenty of fan-favourite details, some of which have already been revealed thanks to official images and details of the LEGO Ideas set. With that in mind, here are five secrets that we’ve already managed to spot in the upcoming frighteningly festive build.

5 – Sandy Claws

While a dedicated minifigure of Jack Skellington in his (misheard) Sandy Claws suit isn’t included in 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas, a drawing of the character’s costume can be spotted on a tile in The Pumpkin King’s house. In addition, it should also be possible to swap out Jack’s torso with Santa’s and add his red and white hat to create at least a basic version of the festive fiend.

4 – Secret ingredients

Take a close look at the tombstones in the graveyard that form part of the Spiral Hill build and you’ll spot some interesting names. They include witch hazel, deadly night shade and henbane, just a handful of the ingredients Sally uses to create a soup to drug Dr. Finkelstein.

21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas also includes a green bottle of frog’s breath, with the spooky substance seen emerging from the Town Hall’s ghoulish fountain.

3 – Zero’s doghouse

Jack Skellington’s undead canine companion gains his own place to reside in the LEGO Ideas set, thanks to small doghouse found in the Spiral Hill graveyard. The dark grey build can be spotted in the centre of that modular section, complete with what looks to be a stickered name piece.

2 – The ghost with the most

Okay, so this isn’t a set secret as such, but 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas will be receiving a wider launch on September 6, the same day that another creepy Tim Burton creation will be unleashed. Surely that must be a bit of a nightmarish coincidence, right?

That’s the date that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice arrives on cinema screens worldwide, with the sequel’s main character having already been immortalised in plastic thanks to a 2017 LEGO Dimensions Fun Pack. Now, how’s about a dedicated LEGO Ideas Beetlejuice Beetlejuice set at some point?

1 – Deadly designer

In a recent roundtable interview with the LEGO Ideas design team behind 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas, it was revealed that fan creator Simon Scott also gets a shoutout in his own set. On a chalkboard located in Jack Skellington’s house can be spotted the secret formula for Christmas, which includes a reference to Simon’s name and birth date, (S.i) and 22.6 (June 22).

We’ll have even more insights and reveals regarding the set from the LEGO Ideas design team over the days to come, in advance of 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas arriving early next month.
