Four new LEGO Wicked sets officially revealed

The LEGO Group has officially revealed four new LEGO Wicked sets, showcasing Shiz University, the Emerald City, and more.

As previously teased by the LEGO Group, a fresh arm of the partnership with Universal will result in four LEGO Wicked sets, in a brand-new theme. Tied to the upcoming live-action movie based on the iconic musical, the four playsets are anchored around mini-dolls rather than minifigures, with most of the focus on main characters Glinda and Elphaba. There’s also one set of buildable characters intended for display, taking a leaf out of the LEGO Minions playbook.

All four LEGO sets will be available from October 1, ahead of the movie’s release in November, but pre-orders are open right now. Wicked explores the untold story of the witches of Oz stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege, who has yet to discover her true heart.

“I’m truly excited that we can finally reveal our lineup of LEGO Wicked sets,” said Raquel Ojeda Gregorio, LEGO Wicked Design Lead at the LEGO Group. “I am a big fan of the Wicked story, so it was an honour for me to get to work as part of an amazing team to recreate some of the unique locations, characters and storylines from the magical world of Oz. We chose some heartwarming moments from the film, so fans can bring a part of the story home and defy gravity using LEGO bricks.”

Each set features a QR code to play songs alongside the sets, including Defying Gravity for 75682 Elphaba & Glinda Figures for example. It seems like each QR code will correspond to different songs. Judging from clues in the LEGO Group’s press release, we’d expect 75681 Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz Uni to feature What Is This Feeling, 75683 Glinda & Elphaba’s Dormitory to have Popular, and 75684 Welcome to Emerald City to match up with Dancing Through Life, although we haven’t confirmed that for sure.

All the confirmed details for the LEGO Wicked sets are featured below, including international prices, piece counts, and full galleries of images.

75681 Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz Uni

Price: £24.99/ $29.99 / €29.99 Pieces: 304 Release date: October 1, 2024, pre-order here

The smallest and cheapest LEGO Wicked set features mini-dolls of Glinda, Elphaba and Nessarose, and recreates the moment Glinda arrives at Shiz University in Oz aboard her sailboat. The building itself is a small façade situated over two storeys that packs in a bedroom, books and a cabinet filled with glass vials. But the real highlight in 75681 Glinda, Elphaba & Nessarose at Shiz Uni might just be that pink rowing boat…

75682 Elphaba & Glinda Figures

Price: £49.99 / $54.99 / €54.99 Pieces: 558 Release date: October 1, 2024, pre-order here

LEGO Wicked’s buildable characters take an unusual approach to large-scale figures, mimicking the proportions of mini-dolls with the help of what looks like new large hand elements. The product description suggests 75682 Elphaba & Glinda Figures specifically recreates the moment Elphaba learns to defy gravity, as the song goes, with a buildable window looking out on to Oz, Ephaba’s broom and more.

75683 Glinda & Elphaba’s Dormitory

Price: £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 Pieces: 740 Release date: October 1, 2024, pre-order here

Back in playset territory, 75683 Glinda & Elphaba’s Dormitory recreates the dynamic duo’s Shiz Uni dorm room, with two outfits apiece for each of its characters. Alongside the QR code that plays a song from the movie, you can also place the mini-dolls on rotating platforms to have them dance in time to the music. The entire model can also close up to form a trunk, complete with Glinda’s flower and Elphaba’s green bottle.

75684 Welcome to Emerald City

Price: £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 Pieces: 945 Release date: October 1, 2024, pre-order here

The biggest LEGO Wicked set is a towering ode to one of the most iconic locations in Oz. Standing an impressive 39 cm tall, 75684 Welcome to Emerald City consists of a three-storey tower packed with rooms including a bike café and cosmetics store, and also features a QR code that can be scanned to access ‘exclusive Wicked content’. You’ll find five mini-dolls in the box, including Glinda, Elphaba, The Magician, Madame Morrible and Fiyero.
