Great Ball Contraption could be a new LEGO Ideas set
The legend of the LEGO Great Ball Contraption lives on as a module that could be a future entry in LEGO Ideas, now in the latest review round.
Featured at LEGO shows around the world, the Great Ball Contraption is a communal project that transports balls from one point to another between modules on a journey of creative and quirky devices.
Jazlecraz‘s project on LEGO Ideas recreates that concept on a smaller scale with modules themed to a mine, space, a castle and more. It’s now reached 10,000 supporters, earning it the 48th spot in the second 2023 LEGO Ideas review round.
Diagrams on the project reveal the mechanisms, arrangement and path that the balls will take on their journey around the course. A crank on the front operates the device, but integrating motorisation is evidently possible too looking at the video.
This build now joins 47 other projects in the second 2023 review round as we near the last third of the year and the deadline for this review.
