How LEGO 76269 Avengers Tower fits with the Marvel modular buildings

LEGO 76269 Avengers Tower fits with the other LEGO Marvel modular buildings in more ways than one and the designers have explained how.

Aside from being compatible via Technic pins with both 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum and 76178 Daily Bugle and the Modular Buildings Collection, LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower has been designed to fit in with the other superhero buildings in a specific way that accommodates the design of each set.

76269 Avengers Tower stands high above any other modular building and has a landing pad that sticks out of the boundaries of its baseplate. However, the other two Marvel modular buildings have done the same.

76178 Daily Bugle has a giant sign which just juts out over its baseplate and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum has a movable portal wall section with Gargantos emerging out of it. While it can be moved, it’s intended to be displayed on the left side, stopping it from connecting to other modular buildings. However, the latter isn’t seemingly going to be a problem with 76269 Avengers Tower.

Two LEGO designers who worked on the new Marvel modular building have clarified how the design accommodates the monstrous feature, and how a significant portion of the tower fits in with 76178 Daily Bugle.

“The bugle sign goes up to here,” stated designer Justin Ramsden in an interview with MiniSuperHeroesToday, gesturing to the level of Avengers Tower with the main logo.

“The sign lines up with the ‘A’ almost exactly,” added designer Mark Stafford.

“Then if you put the sanctum here then you’ve got the monster coming here,” continued Ramsden, gesturing to the right of the tower with Gargantos pointed at the angled windows.

For comparison, that’s exactly how we placed the new set in our estimated size comparison for 76269 Avengers Tower – respective both to the Daily Bugle sign and the wall with Gargantos protruding from a portal on it.

Based on the designers’ comments, it appears that whoever is working in the lobby of 76269 Avengers Tower isn’t going to have the best view with the Sanctum Sanctorum next door. However, it sounds like it should at least fit next to it with Gargantos still emerging from the portal. 76178 Daily Bugle‘s sign may still be in the way of 76269 Avengers Tower‘s structure, but at least you can make a short sentence with another modular building in the middle – A Daily Bugle.

We’ll see at the launch of the new set on November 24 just how 76269 Avengers Tower fits in with the rest of the Marvel street, as well as other modular buildings. You can pick it up from release day for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99 with the exclusive 5008076 LEGO Marvel Taxi GWP for a limited time.
