Last chance to have your LEGO model displayed in the LEGO House

There’s not long left to have your custom creation displayed in the LEGO House in one of the biggest LEGO Ideas challenges yet.

LEGO Ideas occasionally hosts challenges inviting talented enthusiasts to have their builds displayed in the LEGO House in Billund. This year, that opportunity comes with a huge prize package and the chance to extend their model’s display time by another year.

The latest iteration of the LEGO House exhibition challenge is only accepting custom creations until August 21, and we recommend submitting your model as soon as possible in case you need to resubmit with any required changes.

Your build must fit into one of three categories – ‘The secret life of…’, ‘Flora and fauna’ or ‘Mashup madness’. Some examples of entries to inspire you include a retro speaker by Martin_Studio, an intricate fawn by kookybricks and a medieval fairy crossover by J.K.Brick

There are a few guidelines to keep in mind but the most important is that you must be able to physically recreate your build and be able to supply all the pieces. Similarly, avoid referencing third-party content in any sense.

Should you impress the judges and be one of the 25 winners, you will have the opportunity to display your build in the LEGO House for at least one year and maybe one more. One grand prize winner per category will also take home 21037 LEGO House, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute, 40505 Building Systems, 21343 Viking Village21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera and 21349 Tuxedo Cat

One runner-up per category will win 21037 LEGO House, 40504 A Minifigure Tribute and 21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera. Everyone else picked as a winner will receive just 21037 LEGO House

While the physical set prizes are exciting, the biggest reward here is having your model displayed in the LEGO House, in case you need another excuse to visit the Billund attraction. You can click here to read up on the rules of the challenge.

There are only a few days left to get your entry together and submit it accordingly as the challenge will be moving to an expert review from August 21. This will be followed by a crowd vote on September 5 before the winner is announced on September 23.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
