LEGO Harry Potter 40695 Borgin and Burkes: Floo Network revealed

It’s time for the second LEGO Harry Potter reveal of the day as a new gift-with-purchase has suddenly appeared on the official online store.

The Australian online store has revealed 40695 Borgin and Burkes: Floo Network, including a minifigure of Lucius Malfoy following his last minifigure in 75978 Diagon Alley. It appears to be the same minifigure but without the leg printing.

The model is made up of 190 pieces and has a listed value of $29.99, but that’s in Australian dollars so don’t get too concerned about the value. It’s a gift-with-purchase anyway and we have no confirmation on the threshold or offer period just yet.

The builds include a fireplace connected to the Floo Network with a feature to twist the minifigure up into the fireplace, hiding it from view. A small stack of shelves and products is kept to the side and can connect to the main model. Specifically, this stack of shelves includes the Hand of Glory instrument.

This follows the initial reveal of 76437 The Burrow Collectors’ Edition earlier today, of which its source has now been removed. The odd timing of this GWP’s appearance on the official online store suggests that the two LEGO Harry Potter sets may be connected, and the description confirms just as much. Notably, it only says that it complements it rather than connects directly to it.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the last massive LEGO Harry Potter set – 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition – received a tie-in gift-with-purchase. 40695 Borgin and Burkes: Floo Network isn’t quite as physically connected to the next big build as 40598 Gringotts Vault was last year though. Despite this lack of a physical connection, the GWP makes sense in the context of the movies.

We’re still waiting for more official details on 76437 The Burrow Collectors’ Edition and 40695 Borgin and Burkes: Floo Network and will let you know as soon as we know more about both sets.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

In Chamber of Secrets when Harry first travels by floo powder he goes from the Weasley’s house to Borgin and Burke’s. So the two sets have a strong canonical connection if not a physical one.
Perhaps the fireplace in the Weasley’s House set has a similar mechanism to this one.
