LEGO Creator 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern revealed

A possible LEGO Halloween gift-with-purchase has been revealed as the unique 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern surfaces online.

Hong Kong retailer HobbyDigi has added a listing for what could be the next LEGO Halloween gift-with-purchase – 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern. The retailer has confirmed that the set features 254 pieces but has no information for its price or release date.

The box art details that, as the name suggests, 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern includes a light brick to illuminate the interior of the pumpkin as a ghost decoration floats next to it. This appears to be the first time that a LEGO pumpkin has been able to light up, and it’s about time.

The carved face of this Jack-o’-Lantern can be swapped out for a considerably less spooky expression and the entirety of the model is displayed on a grassy base. While it’s not confirmed to be a gift-with-purchase, its piece count and subject matter match that of 40562 Mystic Witch from 2022.

Should their theory be accurate, the upcoming Halloween season would be a great time to offer 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern with qualifying purchases. This set was also initially rumoured to be a gift.

Currently, a free LEGO Friends set is available until September 23 alongside some LEGO Batman deals for Batman Day. Hopefully, we’ll know more about 40697 Light Up Jack-o’-Lantern in the coming weeks.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
