LEGO DC Super-Villains free for PlayStation Plus subscribers

TT Games’ smash hit LEGO DC Super-Villains video game will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers to check out this month.

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two years since LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released by developer TT Games. Since then the company has been through its fair share of controversy and seen the likes of 2K and Light Brick Studio create official LEGO games, although the developer is reportedly working on a new LEGO title based on a ‘major IP’.

One of TT Games’ most popular and successful brick-based outings was LEGO DC Super-Villains, a sprawling multi-platform action-adventure that launched in 2018. The title allowed players to create their own nefarious DC character and get up to all sorts of crime-based hijinks with the likes of Lex Luthor, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd and more bad guys.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members who’ve yet to experience the game can soon do so for free, as LEGO DC Super-Villains will be available on the subscription service from March 19.

It’ll be the PlayStation 4 version of LEGO DC Super-Villains though, so don’t expect all of the usual 4K bells and whistles if you’re checking it out on a PS5. The TT Games title joins other such PlayStation Plus LEGO freebies as LEGO Batman 3, LEGO Worlds and LEGO Jurassic World.

PlayStation Plus is split into three tiers, with monthly fees of £6.99 for Essential membership, Extra for £10.99 and Premium coming in at £13.39. Classic Catalogue, game trials and cloud streaming are all contained within Premium, making it the most expensive (but extensive) option currently available.
