LEGO Discovery Center Washington DC gets an official opening date

A new LEGO Discovery Center in Washington DC is due to open in just a couple of short months.

As part of the LEGO Group’s plans to open three next-gen Discovery Centres in the US this year, a new location in Washington DC’s Springfield Town Center has just got an official opening date. With a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 9, the Discovery Center will open its doors to the public from August 14.

The 32,000-square-foot family attraction includes 12 unique zones, from building activities to an interactive ride. As part of the LEGO Group and Merlin Entertainment’s focus on the updated next-gen design from a team of expert playmakers and Master Model Builders, led by Master Model Builder Andrew Litterst, makes for not just a modern appearance but also a range of new activities.

While it has the same Mini World, Make Your Own Minifigure, and other attractions that you know, there’s also the Hero Zone, where LEGO City meets LEGO NINJAGO in fast-paced hero adventures, including a laser maze, a climbing wall, and a crazy action game, and a Workshop where visitors can meet a team of Master Modern Builders.
