LEGO Disney Up rumour could be bad news for Ideas project

A LEGO Ideas Up project in the third 2022 review might not have a chance at approval according to new Disney 2023 set rumours.

A rumoured set list for LEGO Disney in 2023 includes a model that may be based on Disney and Pixar’s Up. 43217 Carl’s House “Up” is said to include 598 pieces for $54.99 with a release on April 1, 2023, and while nothing more has been reported, there’s only one house iconic enough in Up to warrant a LEGO set.

Carl’s house is the subject of a LEGO Ideas project currently in the third 2022 review from Vaicko. However, should this set rumour be accurate, it doesn’t seem likely that Vaicko’s project will make it any further in the review process.

Vaicko’s submission is one of a few LEGO Ideas Up projects, the others of which were also not approved in their respective review phases. According to this reported set list, it may be the end of the line for Up on LEGO Ideas, but we may finally receive the flying house in 2023, just in time for the 100th anniversary of Disney.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
