LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigure codes verified for North America

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons Minifigures have started to appear in the US and Brick Search has verified the boxes’ scannable codes, meaning fans can again find specific minifigures without opening the box.

The D&D minifigures are officially released on September 1 but a few lucky LEGO lovers have found them early. That has meant that the Brick Search app has been able to see and verify the scannable codes on the base of the boxes and add them to the app in advance of the release date, allowing boxes found in North America to be scanned and individual minifigures identified. Brick Search is available on iOS here or Android here, or search Brick Search in your device’s app store.

These scannable codes – which look like QR codes but are technically data matrix codes – were introduced with LEGO Minifigures Series 25 in January 2024, and continued with Series 26 in May. Both series had different codes for boxes produced in North America and boxes produced in Europe, and that appears to be the case again for the D&D series.

The Brick Search team are on the brink of getting the UK/European codes 100% confirmed but in the meantime, LEGO fans on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean can now use Brick Search’s scanner to find the minifigures they want. All you need is the Brick Search app – available on iOS here and Android here – and an internet connection. Once the app is downloaded, follow the steps below to identify which minifigure is in which box:

The North American codes should also enable users outside of the UK and Europe or North America to scan codes on D&D Minifigure boxes to see which minifigure is inside – the previous series saw codes from North America also work in other parts of the world outside the UK and Europe.

If you’re outside of those regions and find D&D Minifigures on shelves but the Brick Search app is unable to scan the data matrix code then please get in touch on [email protected] – pictures of the codes you are trying to scan would be particularly helpful.

I’m in North America and the codes won’t scan – help!?

If you’re in North America and Brick Search’s scanner isn’t recognising the codes, then get in touch on [email protected]. There’s a few possible reasons for why the scanner might not recognise the codes and pictures of what you’re trying to scan would be helpful.

It could be that you’ve found a box with a code entirely different to what we have previously verified – in which case we’ll add your code to the app and anyone else who finds a box with that code will be able to scan it and forever be in your debt.

Where can I buy LEGO D&D minifigures?

We don’t have an exhaustive list of retailers selling LEGO D&D Minifigures yet, but it’s a safe bet that if they sell LEGO, they’ll sell D&D minifigures. One option would be to order from The Minifigure Store, who ship worldwide.

How do I scan minifigures?

Once you have downloaded Brick Search – for iOS here or Android here – simply open the app and then the app’s scanner feature, which can be found via the blue button at the base of the screen.

Hold the scanner over the code – not the barcode – and keep it still for a few seconds. You can see the scanner in action below:

If the scanner is accidentally catching the barcode then try covering it up with something – like a piece of paper, or even your finger (or someone else’s). You might also want to try increasing the brightness on your device. If none of that works then get in touch on [email protected] and we’ll see what we can do.

Thank you for creating this app – how can I repay you?!

Stop, stop. We do it for the love of LEGO. But since you asked, if you’ve had a good experience using Brick Search to find specific minifigures, you can always leave a rating and a review in your device’s app store…
