LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures described as ‘next step’ of partnership

The LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigures were in the recent D&D direct, where they were referred to as the ‘next step’ in the partnership.

Today’s D&D Direct has ended and as you might have guessed, the upcoming LEGO 71047 Dungeons & Dragons minifigures made a brief, but notable appearance. The September 2024 series is days away from launching and a speaker during the direct quickly mentioned what this series means in the context of the partnership with the LEGO Group.

“The next step for us with the LEGO Group is really to explore what it looks like beyond a major set,” stated the speaker when referring to 71047 Dungeons & Dragons.

While not definitive, this implies that 71047 Dungeons & Dragons isn’t the end of the partnership with Wizards of the Coast, just as 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale wasn’t.

That ticks off an affordable minifigure series and a high-budget ‘major’ set off the list for the LEGO Dungeons & Dragons partnership and nothing more has been confirmed at the time of writing. Hopefully, there are more steps to come, but we will have to wait and see.

The rest of the D&D Direct focused on other partnerships, books and projects coming to the tabletop roleplaying game in the future, with no other mention of the LEGO Group’s products.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
