LEGO Fortnite patch makes a valuable resource go further

Epic Games has updated Fortnite, including a number of improvements to LEGO Fortnite to help valuable resources go further.

A game with as many modes and players as Fortnite needs frequent updates and patches to keep running smoothly. Plus, Epic Games is always improving elements of its various game modes – including LEGO Fortnite, despite it only releasing a few short weeks ago. The most recent update came through on December 18, bringing with it some much-needed patches.

To start off, Epic Game has made food in LEGO Fortnite more filling, saying: “We heard feedback that food in LEGO Fortnite wasn’t reducing hunger very much, so we made adjustments to make your snacks more filling!”

LEGO Fortnite includes a hunger mechanic, very similar to Minecraft, that adds an extra challenge to the game. It requires players to find and cook food to survive, which can be gained through a range of recipes, as well as foraging and hunting from fauna and flora. Some foods will offer extra stat boosts too, such as healing hearts, replenishing hunger bars, and increasing stamina. All in all, making sure your food goes further can make your LEGO Fortnite that bit more fulfilling.

Epic has also fixed a bug “that might have made you lose your items after being eliminated in the transition between aboveground and belowground”. Anyone who has ever been a few hours into a deep exploration and lost their inventory will know the bone-deep frustration, so this is a very welcome update to make.

These patches are on top of previous updates already in place since the game’s original release on December 7, which covered:

  • Durability: increasing the durability of non-Rare/non-Epic tools and weapons by 30% and by 60% for Rare/Epic tools and weapons
  • Damage: reducing damage of the Brute’s Poison area for all three Brutes amnd of the Frost Scorpion explosion
  • Critter Changes: making it easier to defeat Sand Scorpions, Scorpions found in caves, regular Scorpions, Crabs on the shoreline, Sand Spiders, and Alpine Frost Spiders. Rams also now give Heavy Wool.
  • Other Tweaks and Improvements: Grapplers now hold 30 charges and spiders won’t jumpscare you as often when turning over rocks
