LEGO Friends summer 2024 sets revealed

At least 11 brand new LEGO Friends sets are on the way next month, encompassing everything from a water park to a castle… of sorts.

LEGO Friends continues to diversify in summer 2024 with a blockbuster wave of mini-doll sets, with something to suit almost everyone in the mix – whether you want to send your Friends characters to the beach, adventuring in the woods or on holiday.

While the LEGO Group has published plenty of product listings for June 2024 on LEGO.com already, these Friends sets are not yet among them, so these images and product details come from German retailer JB Spielwaren. They join two previously-revealed LEGO Friends summer 2024 sets. Keep an eye out for their international prices soon.

42618 Heartlake City Café

Price: €29.99 Pieces: 426 Release date: June 1, 2024

As anyone who’s walked around a British city will know, you can never have too many cafés and coffee shops. At least this one doesn’t look to be part of a multinational chain, though: 42618 Heartlake City Café is a firmly independent business, so you can hang out there without losing your cred. The 426-piece set includes Paisley, Beatriz and Olly mini-dolls.

42622 Adventure Camp Archery Range

Price: €14.99 Pieces: 157 Release date: June 1, 2024

Making smart use of the functional bow that debuted in the LEGO Avatar range, 42622 Adventure Camp Archery Range looks like a fun entry-level build in the LEGO Friends summer 2024 wave. And it’s a set that begs the question: will the LEGO Group ever get tired of using fern pieces to build trees? Probably not, and we’re not complaining, because they do look good.

42623 Beach Water Scooter

Price: €9.99 Pieces: 84 Release date: June 1, 2024

One thing the LEGO Group’s in-house themes do well is offering a complete package at the cheapest price points, and that seems to be true too for 42623 Beach Water Scooter. For just €10 (presumably £9 / $10), you’re getting two mini-dolls, a dolphin, two water scooters, a buoy and a beach lookout. That’s a lot of bang for your buck.

42624 Adventure Camp Cosy Cabins

Price: €44.99 Pieces: 437 Release date: June 1, 2024

When you’re done firing arrows at targets, your mini-dolls can retreat to their cosy cabins in this second adventure camp-themed set. Doing pretty much what it says on the tin, 42624 Adventure Camp Cosy Cabins offers somewhere for our three mini-doll characters to rest their heads, while packing in fun features like a bike rack, campfire, fox and another fern-based tree.

42625 Beach Smoothie Stand

Price: €19.99 Pieces: 213 Release date: June 1, 2024

Turn your attention back to the beach for a moment for 42625 Beach Smoothie Stand, another affordable and colourful LEGO Friends set that does a lot with a limited piece count. The smoothie stand is half kiosk, half swing (and why not?), while the palm-tree-topped sign is almost as cute as the sea turtle. Two mini-dolls and a beach buggy round out an appealing set for LEGO Friends collectors.

42630 Heartlake City Water Park

Price: €79.99 Pieces: 814 Release date: June 1, 2024

Coming in at the pricier end of the LEGO Friends scale is 42630 Heartlake City Water Park, an 814-piece set that keeps things relatively compact while still packing in plenty of fun features – not least those three water slides (look closer to spot the one that’s framed by two waterfalls). This one includes four mini-dolls in the box.

42635 Dog-Grooming Car

Price: €9.99 Pieces: 64 Release date: June 1, 2024

What is there to say about 42635 Dog-Grooming Car? It’s a set that very few of us will be interested in, given it’s intended primarily for builders transitioning from DUPLO to System. But one thing it does do well is keep the price tag relatively low – which can’t be said for all 4+ sets – and that’s good news for those of us shopping for birthday presents for younger relatives.

42636 Heartlake City Preschool

Price: €49.99 Pieces: 239 Release date: June 1, 2024

If you’ve got a slightly bigger gift budget to play with, 42636 Heartlake City Preschool offers a more complete and rewarding 4+ experience, along with six different mini-dolls and micro-dolls. It’s a clever concept for a set given its chief target audience, too.

42638 Castle Bed and Breakfast

Price: €99.99 Pieces: 1,311 Release date: June 1, 2024

Maybe the most interesting LEGO Friends June 2024 set for most of us will be 42638 Castle Bed and Breakfast, which offers something unique for… well, the entire LEGO product portfolio. We’ve never really seen anything like this, which marries medieval aesthetics with modern furnishings, and the precise execution is sublime – from the colours to the build techniques.
