LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde visual tour and gallery

Strap in for a journey at supersonic speeds with our visual tour of 10318 Concorde, the latest LEGO Icons set to fly straight out of Billund.

The LEGO Icons theme (and Creator Expert before it) has spent most of its lifetime riding along the open road, focusing on classic cars, modern legends and movie icons with sets like 10265 Ford Mustang, 10321 Corvette and 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine. It’s finally returning to the skies next month, however, with 10318 Concorde.

Based on the famed airliner known for its incredible speeds – it could cruise at twice the speed of sound – the LEGO set seeks to recreate the Concorde’s sleek white lines and droop nose. Join us on a visual tour of every angle of 10318 Concorde to see just how well it achieves that aim…

LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde build

10318 Concorde may look relatively simple from the exterior – a huge bundle of white bricks and slopes for the wings, along with sloping elements for the fuselage – but a closer look at the images suggests there’s more here than meets the eye. For instance: a Technic assembly runs through the base of the hull, presumably to control the droop nose function. And with 2,083 pieces in the box, it’s going to be a meaty affair either way.

LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde interior

While 10318 Concorde is decidedly not minifigure scale, it does still include an interior of sorts. Lift off the roof, and you’ll find cabin seating – four-abreast, mimicking the narrow fuselage of the real thing – along with a pair of toilets. The LEGO Group’s obsession with bathrooms continues apace.

LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde display

While 10318 Concorde will demand plenty of space (see further down for more on that), the LEGO Group is making it as easy as possible to display, with a brick-built stand included in the box. You can also choose whether to configure the airliner’s iconic droop nose for flight or take-off and landing, which feels like a function we’ll all be tinkering with endlessly.

LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde details

Most of 10318 Concorde’s piece count is devoted to realising the legendary craft at an intimidating scale, but that doesn’t mean it’s short on details. The Concorde logo pops up in all the right places, for example, and there’s the iconic red stripe across its fuselage (though whether any or all of those are prints or stickers remains to be seen).

The underside of the plane also looks pretty solid – which can’t always be said of LEGO vehicles – while the display stand includes an informational plaque noting the aircraft’s first flight, cruise speed, cruise altitude and more.

LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde size

Hope you’ve got a big shelf: 10318 Concorde’s wingspan is an impressive 43cm, while the plane measures a staggering 105cm from nose to engines. That’s longer than 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V is tall, if you want a quick point of comparison.

10318 Concorde launches on September 4 for VIP members (and September 7 for everyone else) for £169.99 in the UK, $199.99 in the US and €199.99 in Europe.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
