LEGO Icons Mayor Manor will have a spooky rival to contend with

The upcoming Midnight Valley Collection will be competing with a future LEGO Ideas fan design, following the results of the third 2025 review.

The LEGO Ideas team revealed the results of the third review of 2025 this week, with a trio of models confirmed to become physical sets at some point down the road. Those builds include Jumanji Board Game, LEGO Kimonos and Universal Monsters, with the latter representing a potential rival for a recently-revealed LEGO Icons release.

First details of the new Midnight Valley Collection dropped earlier this month, with 11383 Mayor Manor launching on September 1. The model offers up a partial spooky building, complete with an open back, detailed interior, Easter eggs galore and three glow-in-the-dark heads for its creepy minifigure cast.

With 11383 Mayor Manor kicking off the Midnight Valley Collection and more releases likely on the way at some point, that line-up of chilling builds could well face some stiff competition and similarities from Universal Monsters, although there’s no confirmed release date for the licensed LEGO Ideas set just yet.

The 10K submission from fan designer SpectralBricks also boasts its own horror-themed location, represented by a crumbling castle typical of countless seen in Universal movies of yesteryear and features secrets to uncover, treasures to find and six minifigures that include Count Dracula, The Frankenstein Monster and The Wolf Man.

The original Universal Monsters model is comprised of 2,250 bricks, but there’s no way of knowing at this stage exactly how many pieces the final LEGO Ideas set will contain. However, if we’re just speculating, then it’s likely the finished build may still end up being larger than 11383 Mayor Manor, but we’ll just have to wait and see if that’s the case.

While some shoppers may face a scary dilemma when it comes to choosing between the Midnight Valley Collection and Universal Monsters once both are finally on shelves, we suspect fans of the genre will probably want to pick up the full range of spooky LEGO builds, with plenty of potential for creepy cross-customisation.
